Blacksmith Agency is seeking an SEO Strategist (HVAC) to own search strategies for multi-location HVAC clients. You will define the technical roadmap, content priorities, and ranking narrative, serving as the strategic voice in client discussions.

In this role you will lead technical audits, keyword development, and content prioritization with writers and AI, while coordinating with US clients on live calls. Remote work is available across Canada, the USA, and South Africa.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on in SEO with audits and fixes.
• Fluency with Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog and Ahrefs or Semrush.
• Agency experience managing multiple clients simultaneously.
• Clear spoken English with US clients on live calls.
• SEO for HVAC or multi-location businesses is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Own technical SEO: crawl, indexation, site speed, schema, site architecture.
• Develop keyword strategy, on-page optimization, and content priorities with writers and AI.
• Improve visibility on AI search and traditional results for HVAC clients.
• Manage local & multi-location SEO and multi-channel ranking efforts.
• Provide quarterly roadmaps and reporting in GA4 and Search Console.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is an AI-first digital agency. As SEO Strategist, HVAC you own search for a book of HVAC clients (multi-location HVAC and home service groups): the technical roadmap, the content priorities and the ranking story when the client asks what moved. You are the strategic voice at the table, and you make the calls.

What You Will Own

• Technical SEO: crawl, indexation, site speed, schema and site architecture.
• Keyword strategy, on-page optimization and content priorities, with writers and AI producing the drafts.
• Getting clients found in AI search: Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, alongside classic organic results.
• Links, local search and multi-location SEO where the client needs it.
• Reporting in GA4 and Search Console, and the quarterly roadmap for each client.

What You Bring

• 3+ years hands-on in SEO: you have run the audits and made the fixes yourself.
• Fluency with Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog and Ahrefs or Semrush.
