Job summary

WoodGreen Community Services in Toronto (North York) is hiring a Recreation Program Coordinator to lead onsite social, recreational and educational programs for senior tenants within the Cummer Supportive Housing unit. The role involves developing initiatives, supervising volunteers, coordinating with case managers, and evaluating programs to promote wellness, inclusion, and community engagement.

35 hours/week, onsite at 185 Cummer Ave.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree or Social Service Worker with 5+ years’ experience creating and facilitating programming.
• 5+ years of related experience working with adults/seniors, homeless individuals with mental health/substance use issues.
• Demonstrated experience supporting adults/seniors with mental health, substance use, housing needs, etc.

Responsibilities

• Plan, build, organize & facilitate onsite activities with staff and external partners.
• Engage with tenants to assess interests for programming.
• Create a calendar of planned monthly programming and support staff with workshops.
• Interact with individuals to provide emotional support and feedback to case managers/counsellors.
• Collaborate with community partners to maximize support and expand programming.
• Document client interactions using provided software.
• Participate in ongoing training and annual performance appraisals.
