Job summary

WoodGreen Community Services in Toronto is seeking a Coordinator, Community Engagement to support grassroots groups serving vulnerable seniors in the east and mid-east Toronto. You will oversee projects, help build training curricula, and ensure alignment with equity goals.

You will collaborate with the Outreach Team and external partners, promote healthy aging, monitor program progress, and contribute to reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Social Services, Business, Adult Education, etc.).
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience and proven track record in facilitation and/or training in a community setting.
  • Experience in Project Management/Coordination considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and support grassroots groups who are funded to deliver services for vulnerable seniors in the east and mid-east Toronto sub regions, including project oversight.
  • Create training curriculum covering topics of community health, health promotion, health advocacy, patient engagement, goal setting, and other topics related to community health.
  • Develop training programs for community group coordinators in topic areas such as partnership building and system navigation.
  • Establish positive collaborative relationships with appropriate community agencies, including attending and speaking at community meetings and other functions.
  • Assist with planning and development of program activities for grassroots communities.
  • Liaise with staff from other programs, grassroots groups, volunteers, and community agencies to provide program information.
  • Support members of each group to contribute their full potential, develop leadership skills, engage their community, and build long term community capacity.
  • Work closely with the Outreach Team to review and monitor progress reports and data.
  • Outreach to new community groups and develop a pipeline of groups for future funding.
  • Maintain on-going contact with all parties to ensure progress towards targets ensuring adherence to program requirements and perform site visits as required.
  • Resolve conflict situations, including client complaints and disputes.
  • Integrate the principles of anti-racism and community development in programs.
  • Assist with the preparation of regular reports and statistics.
