Job summary

The Ian Martin Group is seeking a Senior Development Specialist in Toronto, Ontario. This 6-month contract offers hybrid work and requires deep expertise in front-end development, architecture, and integration of REST APIs with enterprise systems.

You will design, develop, and maintain accessible, secure front-end components for the Toronto Water Aggregated Building Water Consumption Solution, document specifications, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet WCAG 2.1 AA and AODA

Qualifications

Extensive SPA development experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, and frameworks (Backbone, React, Stencil.js) and REST/XML APIs.
Experience independently on architecture, documentation, risk assessments, accessibility compliance, and QA/UAT feedback management.
Proficient in root cause analysis during outages and providing troubleshooting and debugging recommendations.
Experience designing and maintaining large-scale IT applications with cross-disciplinary teams and documentation.
Experience building accessible digital products meeting WCAG 2.x AA, AODA, and WAI ARIA across web, iOS, Android.
Post-secondary education in CS or related field or equivalent combination.
Experience integrating web apps with enterprise systems via REST APIs, auth services, and secure data exchange.
Experience developing secure customer-facing applications in public sector or regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide technical and development expertise in initiation, analysis, design, testing, implementation, and sustainment.
Design, develop, upgrade, test, and implement software components for the Toronto Water Aggregated Building Water Consumption Application.
Document technical specifications, system designs, and integration details.
Troubleshoot and resolve application issues related to functionality, data integrity, integrations, and access.
Collaborate with parallel development resources for consistent implementation and integration.
Plan, estimate, and deliver development tasks to support evolving program requirements.
Work with stakeholders to ensure accessibility, privacy, security, operational and customer-service requirements.
Ensure interfaces comply with WCAG 2.1 AA, AODA, and client standards.
