Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Warehouse Operations Manager to lead a large-scale warehouse in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will drive efficiency across receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch while controlling costs and ensuring safety standards.

You will optimize inventory accuracy through cycle counts, implement advanced WMS solutions, and mentor a diverse team of supervisors and associates to achieve KPIs and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years progressive warehouse management experience, incl. 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record managing large-scale warehouse operations.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, WMS, and supply chain best practices.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to motivate staff.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with WMS software.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations in warehouses.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, SCM, Business Admin, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic operational plans to optimize warehouse efficiency and productivity.
• Oversee all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory management.
• Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and minimize stock discrepancies.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing warehouse team including supervisors and associates.
• Manage budgets, control operational costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Implement and leverage WMS to improve tracking, visibility, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and transportation to ensure seamless supply chain integration.
• Monitor KPIs and generate reports on operational performance.
