Our client has an immediate requirement for a Senior UX Designer to lead UX research and journey mapping focused on improving complex digital experiences.
This is a hands-on senior practitioner role focused on understanding user behaviour, analyzing digital journeys, identifying pain points and opportunities, and translating research into clear recommendations for future content, design and implementation.
- 6-month full-time contract
- Calgary preferred; remote considered
- Travel may be required
Must Have:
- 7+ years of professional experience in UX Design, UX Research, Service Design or Experience Design
- Strong experience leading UX research and end-to-end journey mapping initiatives
- Strong knowledge of research methods including interviews, surveys, usability testing and task-based research
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with GA4 and web analytics, analyzing user behaviour, pathways, entry points and drop-offs
- Experience working within complex digital ecosystems involving multiple websites, business units and stakeholder groups
- Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, including working with senior leadership
- Strong ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative research into clear findings, journey maps and recommendations
Nice to Have:
- Experience in higher education, government or another public-sector environment
- Experience with content strategy, information architecture or content design
- Experience working within large, decentralized organizations with multiple content owners
- Experience with Figma, FigJam, Miro or similar UX and collaboration tools
Responsibilties:
- Review existing research, analytics, user flows and documentation to establish a current-state understanding
- Analyze user behaviour and digital pathways using GA4 and other web analytics
- Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative UX research
- Develop end-to-end journey maps identifying behaviours, information needs, touchpoints, pain points and opportunities
- Facilitate workshops and interviews with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts and senior stakeholders
- Translate research and analytics into clear findings, presentations and actionable recommendations
- Identify opportunities to improve content, navigation, functionality and transitions across digital experiences
