Job summary

BDC, the bank devoted to Canadian entrepreneurs, is seeking a Senior Manager, Underwriting - Credit Risk Management. You will lead credit due diligence, risk analysis, and the authorization of loan proposals of moderate to high complexity to support portfolio growth across regions.

You will develop well-supported proposals reflecting credit risk standards, coach new colleagues, and collaborate with internal partners to ensure adherence to policies while delivering prudent, scalable solutions for

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in credit analysis or commercial lending.
• Experience coaching or mentoring colleagues.
• Strong understanding of credit risk policies and governance expectations.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and authorize loan proposals for moderate to high complexity credit files (up to $1.5M).
• Determine credit terms, pricing, repayment structures, and covenants with disciplined analysis.
• Review loan documentation and negotiate structures with internal partners to ensure policy alignment.
• Support compliance matters and timely decision-making during negotiations.
• Provide coaching to new employees and share knowledge within the team.
