Job summary

Federated Insurance Senior Underwriters tailor solutions for our commercial mid-market clients, coordinating with Commercial Insurance Specialists to craft property, casualty, and auto/fleet coverage.

As a Senior Underwriter, you’ll nurture relationships with specialists, mentor teammates, and help deliver exceptional underwriting experiences while collaborating with Actuarial and Claims teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Commercial P&C underwriting experience.
• Experience leading or mentoring a team, an asset.
• Completed, or pursuing CIP, FCIP, or RPLU designations.
• Strong customer service background.

Responsibilities

• Develop and customize insurance solutions for commercial mid-market clients (property, casualty, auto/fleet).
• Collaborate with Commercial Insurance Specialists to craft unique risk solutions.
• Maintain strong relationships with specialists and stakeholders.
• Provide excellent underwriting experience and support actuarial and claims teams.

Federated Insurance Senior Underwriters customize solutions for our commercial mid-market clients when they need insurance products. They work closely with our Commercial Insurance Specialists to develop unique solutions for all classes of risk - property, casualty, commercial auto/fleet, and more!

Our Senior Underwriters are passionate about maintaining strong relationships with our Commercial Insurance Specialists – this means emails and phone calls don’t go unanswered, and they provide an excellent underwriting experience. They also pay attention to the smallest of details, work closely with our Actuarial and Claims Departments, and they could probably help hostages with their elite negotiation skills.

• Commercial property & casualty underwriting
• Problem-solving and critical thinking
• Developing and maintaining professional relationships
• Creating success in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Helping others develop through coaching and mentorship

If you have:

• 5+ years of Commercial P&C Underwriting experience
• Experience leading or mentoring a team, an asset
• Broad knowledge and understanding of underwriting disciplines and pricing models
• Completed, or pursuing your CIP, FCIP, or RPLU designations
• Strong customer service background
