Job summary

Astra-North Infoteck Inc. is seeking an experienced UI/UX designer to join our Toronto team in a Hybrid role (4 days working from office). You will lead UX and product design efforts across web and mobile, translating complex requirements into intuitive interfaces.

You will conduct user research, create personas and journey maps, develop wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes using Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, and collaborate closely with developers to ensure accessible, polished UI.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of UI/UX or product design experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design.
• Experience collaborating with product managers, developers, and QA.
• Proficiency with accessibility guidelines (WCAG) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze user requirements with PMs, BAs, and developers; conduct user research and usability testing.
• Create personas, journey maps, flows, wireframes, and prototypes; design intuitive UIs for web and mobile.
• Develop high-fidelity mockups and prototypes using Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch; collaborate with developers.
• Ensure accessibility and usability standards; improve UX based on feedback and analytics; maintain design systems.

Role Descriptions:

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze user requirements in collaboration with product managers, business analysts, and developers. Conduct user research, interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
• Create user personas, journey maps, process flows, wireframes, and prototypes. Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for web and mobile applications.
• Develop high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch. Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
• Ensure designs comply with accessibility and usability standards. Continuously improve user experiences based on feedback, analytics, and testing results. Maintain and contribute to design systems and UI standards.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) principles.
• Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision.
• Knowledge of wireframing, prototyping, information architecture, and interaction design.
• Familiarity with responsive and mobile-first design practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) is preferred.
