Job summary

The Government of Alberta seeks a Senior Treasury Analyst to join the Treasury Risk Management team in Edmonton. You will analyze debt, investments and derivatives, develop financial models and support capital markets activities, reporting to senior management.

Role requires advanced analytical skills, experience with treasury systems (FIS Quantum) and programming languages (R, SQL, VBA). The position offers full-time hours and operates within a dynamic public sector environment.

Qualifications

• University graduation in a related field with four years related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience including a recognized applied degree or diploma in a related field.
• CFA Charter holder preferred; FRM, MBA Finance or CPA may be considered.
• Experience in government, banking or corporate Treasury preferred.
• Availability to work early mornings and occasional foreign market hours.
• Knowledge of Canadian capital market regulations and related disclosures.
• Experience with FIS Quantum, Excel, Access, Bloomberg and FinCAD for treasury operations.
• Programming and data analysis tools (R, SQL, VBA, XML) and ability to learn new languages.
• Understanding of provincial government financial responsibilities and reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct credit analysis and ongoing monitoring of debt and investment portfolios.
• Research and evaluate investment and borrowing activities for Capital Markets decisions.
• Assist in credit applications from Crown corporations and municipalities.
• Perform advanced system administration within FIS Quantum and treasury platforms.
• Support implementation, testing, configuration and maintenance of treasury systems.
• Use R, SQL, SAS Viya, VBA and XML to automate business processes.
• Prepare public-facing and internal reports on debt, investments and treasury activities.
