Position Overview

HDR is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Manager to work in the Transportation market sector in Utah. This role involves providing project management and technical services to UDOT and public agency clients in a thriving region. The individual will pursue, manage, and deliver projects, responding effectively to client needs. Strong management skills and the ability to collaborate with transportation and public agency staff on capital projects are essential.

Qualifications and Experience

• Broad experience with transportation projects in Utah.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local standards related to transportation design, operations, and maintenance.
• Understanding of project delivery processes across various phases, including planning, design, environmental documentation, PS&E, DSDC, and CM.
• Experience as a seller-doer project manager, leading project pursuits and expanding market share.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Manage large or complex projects involving substantial staff.
• Handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, participate in marketing and meetings.
• Oversee project budgets and schedules, ensuring adherence to parameters.
• Mentor less experienced project managers and engineers.
• Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and estimates; monitor project scope and changes.
• Interface with clients to ensure successful project delivery and manage expectations.
• Coordinate workload, project status, and staffing with other managers.
• Update standards to reflect changes in codes and regulations.
• Conduct quality control reviews and perform engineering duties as needed.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience.
• State of Utah PE license.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• At least 10 years of related experience.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project; Access experience is a plus.
• Strong leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills.
