Job summary

RESA Power is seeking a Sr. Transformer Technician in Canada to install, maintain and troubleshoot transformers with a customer‑focused approach. You will perform inspections, vacuum oil filling, testing, commissioning and lead field projects with safety and quality in mind.

The role requires 5+ years in transformer service, HV experience up to 230 kV, strong communication, and ability to travel 85%+. A valid Class 5 license and proficiency with MS Office are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of transformer service experience or related field.
• Ability to interpret work scope, drawings and technical documents.
• Experience with insulation oil processing and transformer testing.
• Proficient with MS Office and field reporting.
• Strong communication with clients, peers and management.
• Willingness to travel extensively (85%+).
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license may be required for company vehicle use.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex transformer service operations with advanced technical skills.
• Lead transformer testing, troubleshooting, and interpret results.
• Mentor junior technicians in safe and effective equipment operations.
• Plan and coordinate field projects, manage resources, and prepare reports.
• Maintain budget adherence for work hours and vendor deliveries.
• Ensure all work meets QA specifications and perform pre-completion inspections.
• Maintain strong client relationships and expand project scope.
• Complete service and repair work at customer locations as directed.
