Job summary

AAA Canada in Montreal seeks a tooling and manufacturing project engineer to analyze tooling requests, define tool concepts, and validate manufacturing processes across our centers. You will collaborate with design and production teams to improve tooling and assembly methods.

With 10+ years in manufacturing and at least 2 years in project management, you will leverage CAD tools, machining knowledge, and strong communication to drive cost efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in mechanical engineering or aeronautics or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of project management experience.
• Catia V5 and/or NX drawing software an asset.
• Technical knowledge in manufacturing and mechanical assembly.
• Good manual experience in the specialized tooling field.
• Mastery of machining techniques (conventional, CNC).
• Ability to read drawings and apply geometric tolerancing.
• Analytical mindset and strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Fluency in French with knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

• Analyze tooling requests with production, operations support, and engineering to improve assembly performance.
• Define tool concepts with designers.
• Define and validate manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment.
• Build manufacturing files for production and quality monitoring.
• Evaluate production costs and manage project costs.
• Coordinate schedules and information for tooling projects.
• Issue instructions to internal and external suppliers to manufacture parts per designs.
• Support suppliers during tooling manufacturing and monitor progress.
• Provide technical support to production sectors during issues.
• Implement performance indicators and drive process improvements.
