Job summary

MDOS Consulting is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to support a client in Ottawa, onsite at 2200 Walkley Road. The role requires English language proficiency and a security clearance at the Secret level.

The ideal candidate will create complex strategic documents for Federal Government departments, covering strategic and operational planning, guidance, and campaign plans at Levels 0–2, and will provide detailed project references and client information as part of the engagement.

Qualifications

• Certificate, diploma or degree in a relevant field from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.
• 48 months relevant experience.
• Senior level requires minimum of 5 years within the last 10 years in related roles.

Responsibilities

• Create complex strategic documents for Federal Government departments addressing Strategic and Operational Planning and Guidance and Campaign Plans at Level 0–2.
• Coordinate and document project references: client description, timeframe, roles and responsibilities, detailed examples, and references.
• Prepare communications and documentation that align with security clearance requirements and client standards.

• Language: English
• Security Clearance: Secret
• Location of Work: Onsite – 2200 Walkley Road, Ottawa, ON

Mandatory requirements:

• Education:
  • Certificate, diploma or degree in a relevant field from a recognized Canadian* post-secondary institution.
• Experience: 48 months relevant experience.
• The proposed resource as a Technical Writer at a Senior level must have a minimum of (5) years within the last (10) experience in the following;

Created complex strategic documents for Federal Government departments and organizations within the security sector, addressing Strategic and Operational Planning and, Guidance and Campaign Plans at Level (L) 0, L1 and L2.

For each project referenced, at minimum the following information must be provided:

• Project Reference #
• Name and description of client organization and relevant experience.
• Timeframe (mmm-yyyy to mmm-yyyy = xx months)
• Description of the roles and responsibilities
• Detailed example(s) demonstrating the relevant experience; and
• One Project Reference* (Name, Title, phone number and email address).
