Job summary

Alliance Technical Group seeks a Technical Services Writer in Alberta, Canada to craft proposals, test plans, and reports for source testing projects. You will manage your own workload and communicate status within Alliance.

Requirements include a High School Diploma (AS/BS preferred in Science/Engineering), proficiency with Word/Excel/Adobe/Outlook, and strong written and verbal communication. Flexibility to meet project deadlines is required.

Responsibilities

  • Write proposals based on customer information, permits and pricing.
  • Write accurate reports in cooperation with project managers and data quality analysts.
  • Draft test plans for projects with project managers and coordinators.
  • Prepare electronic reports using EPA’s ERT and ECMPS.

Job description

The Technical Services Writer works within the Technical Services organization. The primary duties of the Technical Services Writer include technical writing of proposals, test plans and reports for source testing projects. A Technical Services writer must be able to manage their own workload, follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate within Alliance on the status of documents. Pay will be between $25-$33 / hour CAD.

RESPONSIBILITIE AND DUTIES:
  • Work with identified scope of work personnel to write proposals based on customer information, permits and pricing.
  • Work with project managers and data quality analysts to write accurate reports. Project manager and data quality analysts review data and provide summary information for completion of test report. Draft reports are then provided to the project manager or technical services manager for review prior to submittal to the clients.
  • Work with project managers and technical service coordinators and/or managers to write test plans for projects.
  • Prepare electronic reports using EPA’s Electronic Reporting Tool (ERT) and ECMPS.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma required. AS or BS degree preferred (Science and Engineering related fields ideal)
  • Computer skills. Proficient skill level of Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook.
  • Good verbal communication skills (Internally and with Clients and Regulators).
  • Professional appearance and behavior.
  • Maintain positive attitude with ability to work well in groups.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task while remaining focused on all tasks.
  • Flexibility: Must be available to work outside normal work hours to complete projects.
  • Attention to detail.
