About the Role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Employer Portal, the Senior Technical Scrum Master is a highly experienced Agile practitioner with technical expertise in leading software engineering pods, with a deep understanding and practical experience applying Scrum principles and practices. The Senior Technical Scrum Master facilitates all Scrum ceremonies for multiple teams, manages impediments raised, and fosters continuous improvements across the product. Through a strong understanding of technical aspects of the backlog, the Senior Technical Scrum Master enables effective collaboration within the development team and ensures that teams consistently deliver high value by adhering to secure agile software development practices.
As the Newest Member of our Team, You Will:
Facilitates all Scrum events such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release planning for multiple teams, ensuring effective discussions and clear outcomes.
Proactively identify and manage the resolution of impediments, escalate issues to the Product Owner and relevant stakeholders.
Achieve the sprint goals and release objectives, ensuring that the business expectations and needs are met
Work closely with the Product Owner and Technical leads, analyze the metrics, and identify areas of improvement, guiding teams to enhance productivity and quality.
Support the Product Owner in effectively communicating the team’s progress and challenges, ensuring transparency of outcomes. Reports regularly on risks and financials.
Consistently follow and advocate the agile principles, proactively coach the team, and mature the agile practice.
Foster a collaborative and transparent environment, ensuring the team’s progress towards the set goals.
To Succeed, You Bring:
Five (5) plus years’ experience as a Technical Scrum Master in a software development environment with mature agile practices applied (Scrum or Kanban).
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile certification.
Extensive experience with the secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Working knowledge of any development tracking software: e.g. Azure DevOps, JIRA.
Experience working in the Financial/Pension industry with knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to pension systems.
Strong attention to detail and proven ability to collaborate successfully with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Ability to convey technical information clearly, facilitate productive discussions, drive decision-making, and resolve conflicts effectively.
