Blackbird Interactive is looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Technical Artist to join our team on an exciting VR project for an established and well loved IP! Do you have a broad range of creative and technical experience in creating content for Unreal Engine 5 ? Are you experienced in guiding the landscape of technical art on a project, from pre-production to release?
You will be part of a small, high performing team who can crunch ideas quickly and come up with dazzling solutions to challenging problems. You will have a collaborative approach to building the tech art for this project, and be the glue amongst a group of Artists and Engineers as they push towards their project goals.
Responsibilities
- Help Artists with hookup support, tool creation and best practices
- Understanding of real-time content development and ability to devise high visual quality solutions within technical constraints
- Define and implement optimization strategies to maintain frame rate and performance targets
- Able to work with minimum supervision, work well in a small team, take ownership for problems and collaborate solutions. Able to mentor other artists and TAs
- Act as a bridge between Art, Engineering and the game engine
- Ability to generate clear and understandable documentation for tool and production pipelines
- Work with the team to integrate, and optimise lighting under a tech brief
Requirements
- 5+ Years of experience as a TA
- Experience with Unreal 5
- Experience with integrating and iterating lighting for games
- Some C++ or C# experience
- Understanding of asset management
- Experience working with Maya
- Understanding of shader development
Pluses
- Understanding of particle systems and effects (i.e.: Niagara)
- P4V experience
