ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Stormwater Engineer, you'll be a recognized subject matter expert, typically acquired through advanced education and work experience. You'll manage large projects or processes with minimal oversight, mentor junior professionals, and tackle complex engineering challenges. This role involves:

• Leading engineering project tasks as a Project Engineer or Senior Engineer with minimal supervision.
• Developing stormwater management models and nature-based designs.
• Collaborating with a high-energy team to challenge traditional stormwater design methods.
• Innovating through simulations, modeling, and cutting-edge methodologies.
• Enhancing project delivery, quality, and efficiency through process improvements.
• Mentoring and coaching junior engineers, EITs, and technicians to develop future industry experts.
• Keeping up with industry trends and bringing creative and innovative solutions back to the team.
• Ensuring seamless communication and execution across project teams.
• Exhibiting MAGNA’s values of accountability, curiosity, flexibility, and fun.
• Other duties as required.

SALARY RANGE: $130,000 - $150,000 / YR

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation (APEGA and/or BCPEG member).
• 10+ years of experience in stormwater or municipal engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a team environment.
• Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid Canadian driver’s license with reliable access to a vehicle.
• Eligibility to work in Canada.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong understanding of stormwater management best practices and regulations.
• Experience working in Calgary and knowledge of City of Calgary drafting standards.
• Experience working with Indigenous communities.
• Familiarity with municipal engineering best practices in the Calgary Region.
• Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Proficiency in PCSWMM, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and/or GIS.
• Strong project management and team leadership skills.
