Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Senior Subcontracts Specialist to join our client's team in Edmonton or Calgary on a permanent basis. This strategic role leads complex subcontracting packages, develops sourcing strategies, negotiates agreements, and partners with project teams to drive successful outcomes on major industrial construction projects.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in subcontracting or contract management, strong negotiation and communication skills, and are ready to influence commercial

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of subcontract, procurement, or contract management experience.
  • Experience supporting major industrial construction or capital projects.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and commercial skills.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • SCMP designation is an asset.
  • Relevant post-secondary education.

Responsibilities

  • Develop subcontracting and sourcing strategies with project teams.
  • Lead RFQ/RFP processes, bid evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards.
  • Build strong scopes of work and commercial agreements with internal stakeholders.
  • Identify, evaluate, and engage qualified subcontractors.
  • Manage subcontract performance, changes, invoicing, claims, and closeout activities.
  • Provide contract and commercial guidance to project teams.
  • Build strong relationships with subcontractors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor team members and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

Airswift is currently seeking a Senior Subcontracts Specialist to join our client's team on a permanent basis in either Edmonton or Calgary. This is a strategic role for a commercially minded professional who enjoys leading complex subcontracting packages, developing sourcing strategies, negotiating agreements, and partnering with project teams to drive successful project outcomes. The Senior Subcontracts Specialist will lead the subcontracting process for major industrial construction projects, helping ensure commercial success from planning through execution. Our client is a major EPC multinational operating in various Energy, Process and Infrastructure-type projects and they are currently looking to add to their Field Construction Business Unit.

Responsibilities
  • Develop subcontracting and sourcing strategies with project teams
  • Lead RFQ/RFP processes, bid evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards
  • Build strong scopes of work and commercial agreements with internal stakeholders
