Procurement Specialist, Electrical & Instrumentation

Position Overview

Worley Canada Construction is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist, Electrical & Instrumentation to join our growing Procurement team in Edmonton, AB.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement of electrical and instrumentation materials and equipment, including sourcing, commercial evaluations, negotiations, purchase order administration, expediting, and supplier management. This role works closely with project teams, suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure materials are procured competitively, meet technical requirements, and support project schedules.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
  • Review material requisitions, bills of material, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Develop sourcing strategies, bidder lists, and issue RFQs/RFPs.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations for commercial completeness and technical compliance.
  • Prepare commercial bid evaluations and supplier recommendations.
  • Lead or support commercial negotiations to achieve competitive project outcomes.
Purchase Order Administration
  • Prepare, issue, and administer purchase orders and revisions.
  • Maintain procurement documentation, approvals, and commercial records.
  • Manage supplier communications, changes, claims, and issue resolution.
  • Complete purchase order closeout activities.
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and procurement milestones.
  • Identify and communicate schedule, commercial, and supply chain risks.
  • Coordinate mitigation and recovery plans when project requirements are at risk.
  • Support material tracking, documentation management, and delivery execution.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting
  • Collaborate with project management, construction, estimating, quality, project controls, accounts payable, clients, and suppliers.
  • Provide proactive communication regarding procurement status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prepare and maintain procurement reports and project updates.
  • Independently manage assigned procurement packages while supporting complex E&I scopes.
Qualifications
  • 1-3+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably supporting electrical and instrumentation materials, equipment, or construction packages.
  • Electrical and/or Instrumentation trade experience or demonstrated technical knowledge of E&I materials and equipment.
  • Previous experience in industrial construction, oil and gas, power, renewable energy, or related sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing, competitive bidding, commercial evaluation, negotiations, expediting, and purchase order administration.
  • Familiarity with AVEVA ERM or a comparable ERP/materials management system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
Work Conditions
  • Position may be based in the Edmonton office or at a project site depending on project requirements.
  • Collaboration with geographically dispersed project teams, suppliers, and clients is required.
  • Occasional travel to project sites, supplier facilities, or client locations may be required.
  • Site-based assignments may be subject to site-specific schedules and access requirements.
