Job summary

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of structural experience, Ontario P.Eng., and a track record in complex projects with strong client relationships and business development skills.

Qualifications

• University degree in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario and in good standing.
• Minimum 10 - 15 years of structural engineering design experience.
• Experience delivering structural engineering solutions for medium to complex projects.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating with construction stakeholders.
• Strong working knowledge of OBC, NBCC, CSA, and related standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SAFE, S-FRAME, SAP, WoodWorks, and ETABS.
• Strong written and verbal communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build client relationships while ensuring project and service quality.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of engineers and technologists delivering structural projects through design, tender, construction, and closeout.
• Lead design activities and provide project delivery oversight including schedule, resources, and budget.
• Prepare, review, and seal design packages in compliance with codes and standards.
• Provide technical advisory services throughout project execution and design development.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities to grow client base.
• Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement with clients, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Develop permit submissions, tender documents, and construction drawings.
• Oversee construction review and monitor activities for compliance with design intent.
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation for delivery.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical direction for QA.
• Mentor junior engineers through technical leadership and development support.
• Perform peer reviews and support quality management processes.
