Job summary

EastPoint Engineering Limited in Halifax seeks an Intermediate Structural Engineer with 5 years of experience to join the team. You will develop and implement technical solutions in both office and field, participating in all design phases from proposals to commissioning while mentoring a talented group of professionals.

The role emphasizes collaboration, growth, and adherence to CSA codes, with travel across Canada and a strong emphasis on quality and mentorship.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
5+ years’ experience in design and construction of infrastructure including marine structures, bridges and buildings.
Experience with ETABS or similar structural analysis software.
Knowledge of CSA codes: S6-19, A23.3, S16, O86.
Willingness to travel across Canada; max 5 days per 60-90 days.
Eligibility for Reliability Status clearance within 6 months.

Responsibilities

Provide concept and detailed design under supervision for infrastructure projects (wharfs, piers, buildings, bridges).
Review drawings, plans and calculations to verify structural integrity and perform complex analyses.
Interpret geotechnical, bathymetric and topographical data for foundation design.
Coordinate design team activities including drafting techs, sub-consultants, and sub-contractors.
Conduct feasibility assessments and site inspections; prepare technical reports.
