Job summary

EXP is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to lead structural design for buildings across Atlantic Canada. You will prepare drawings, perform calculations, and guide projects from concept through review, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires a P.Eng. with APEGNB or eligibility and a Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering with 8+ years as Engineer of Record, plus strong code knowledge and BIM proficiency.

Qualifications

• P.Eng. with APEGNB or eligible for registration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering; 8+ years as Engineer of Record.
• Strong knowledge of NBC of Canada and CSA standards.
• Proficiency in Revit/BIM; AutoCAD is an asset.
• Familiarity with ETABS, RISA and S‑FRAME.
• Excellent communication and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; AI tools are an asset.

Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our growing team in New Brunswick. This role offers the opportunity to work on municipal, industrial, and commercial projects across Atlantic Canada and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings, specifications, and reports for structural design projects.
• Design structural framing systems using steel, concrete, and wood elements.
• Perform structural calculations for existing and new structural framing systems.
• Complete facility condition assessments, feasibility studies, and design briefs.
• Conduct site visits to review existing building systems and review progress of construction.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and respond to internal/external project inquiries.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGNB, or eligibility to obtain registration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of experience serving as Engineer of Record.
• Strong knowledge of National Building Code of Canada, and CSA standards.
• Proficiency in Revit/BIM (AutoCAD experience is an asset).
• Familiarity with specification writing.
• Familiarity with structural design software, such as ETABS, RISA, and S‑FRAME.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AI tools is an asset.
