Job summary

Join MDA Space in Montreal as a Structural Analyst specialized in Electronic Packaging on the Satellite Systems team. You will develop and validate state-of-the-art space electronic units and subsystems through rigorous structural analyses, contributing to hundreds of missions over a 55-year history.

You will lead a multidisciplinary engineering effort, perform advanced FE analyses, coordinate junior analysts, and liaise with manufacturing and design teams to ensure robust, flight-ready

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, physics, materials science, or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of industry experience.
• Knowledge of electronic components and encapsulation techniques (PCBs, solders, vias, CCGAs, BGAs, thermal management).
• Experience in finite element analysis (FEA).
• Experience in dynamic analyses (modal, sine, random) and thermo-elastic analysis for electronic units and subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate stiffness, strength, and durability of equipment and subsystems.
• Identify design issues and approve mechanical designs with modifications as needed.
• Generate analysis reports and mechanical test procedures/reports.
• Support manufacturing activities.
• Validate designs by testing in thermal and dynamic environments.
• Coordinate and supervise junior analysts or subcontractors.
