Role :

In a multidisciplinary engineering team, contribute to the development of state-of-the-art space electronic units and subsystems by performing their structural analyses.

Tasks :
  • Evaluate numerically, analytically and/or experimentally stiffness, strength & durability of equipments & sub-systems.
  • Identify problems, propose modifications or improvements to the design and then approve the mechanical design.
  • Generate analysis reports as well as mechanical test procedures and reports.
  • Support manufacturing.
  • Validate and prove the mechanical design by performing tests according to thermal & dynamic environments.
  • The analyst will also be called upon to coordinate & supervise more junior analysts or subcontractors performing the tasks described above.
Qualifications Required :
  • The candidate must have at least a master's degree in mechanical engineering or physics or materials science or an equivalent

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the industry.
  • Knowledge of electronic components and encapsulation techniques (PCBs, solders, vias, CCGAs, BGAs, thermal management, etc.)
  • Familiarity in the evaluation of the fatigue and lives of electronic equipment.
  • Experience in finite element analysis.
  • Experience in dynamic analyses (modal, sine & random analyses) as well as thermo-elastic analysis for electronic units and subsystems.
  • Demonstrated leadership & excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Ability to solve manufacturing problems of electronic equipment.
  • Ability to perform vibration, shock, and life tests.
  • Industry experience.
  • Experience with Nastran.
  • Experience with Siemens Nx CAE & TeamCenter softwares.
  • Bilingualism, French and English (Work on contracts written in English for customers outside Quebec. Contact with financial directors and contracts manager at head office in Ontario).
Comments/Special Considerations :

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
