Job summary

Farm Credit Canada is seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist to lead procurement and category management across assigned spend areas. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to craft sourcing strategies that drive value, mitigate risks and strengthen partnerships.

We value strategic thinkers with strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of balancing planning with execution in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, economics, supply chain management or a related field.
  • Eight or more years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
  • Strong knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing and contract management.
  • Experience developing and executing procurement strategies and managing supplier relationships.

How you’ll make an impact

As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you'll lead procurement and category management activities for assigned spend categories, helping FCC maximize value, manage supplier risks and strengthen vendor partnerships. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to develop sourcing strategies that support business objectives. We’re looking for a strategic procurement professional who enjoys building relationships, solving complex business challenges and creating value through effective sourcing strategies. Someone who’s curious, a strong communicator and has the ability to influence stakeholders and vendors alike. What you’ll bring to the team
  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, economics, supply chain management or a related field
  • Minimum eight years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain management or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Strong knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing and contract management
  • Experience developing and executing procurement strategies
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and third-party risk
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Industry-recognized procurement or supply chain management certification
  • Preferred qualifications MBA or other advanced degree
  • Professional designation such as SCMP, CPSM or equivalent
  • Experience leading complex category management initiatives – ideally in the Facilities area
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices in large organizations
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset.
