Job summary

Honeycomb is seeking a Senior Storage Engineer to design and implement high-throughput storage and query systems powering billions of events. You will own end-to-end delivery from design to production, collaborating with product and engineering teams to ensure fast, reliable query results across Honeycomb’s platforms.

Qualifications

• Strength in mentorship and teamwork.
• Technical leadership in storage and querying.
• Experience writing Go and working on high-throughput or complex systems.
• Prior experience with database engineering is a plus.
• Comfort with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver high-quality solutions for Honeycomb’s query and data storage infrastructure.
• Scope and deliver projects independently, from design to production support.
• Collaborate with Product Management and other engineering teams to connect technical solutions to product needs.
• Support services in production and own on-call rotations.
• Learn new technologies and optimization strategies to maintain performance and reliability at scale.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to a culture of ownership.
