Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Staff Software Developer to own the architectural evolution of core infrastructure, including service mesh, compute platform, and provisioning. You will influence regional expansion, ensure reliability, and shape engineering velocity across teams.

Role emphasizes deep hands-on work with Kubernetes internals, Istio/Envoy, and Terraform, aiming to transform platform capabilities for multi-region provisioning and engineer-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Kubernetes APIs, controllers, and etcd.
• Deep understanding of Istio/Envoy at source level and xDS protocol.
• Strong coding skills in Go or Python for infra tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own architectural evolution of service mesh, compute platform, and provisioning infrastructure.
• Lead cross-team reviews and drive multi-region infrastructure decisions.
• Transform Terraform into scalable, self-service platform for region provisioning.
