Job summary

RBC is seeking an experienced SRE/DevOps professional to drive automation, deploy critical financial software, and manage CI/CD pipelines within a large technology organization in Toronto.

The role emphasizes reliability, incident management, and capacity planning, with collaboration across infrastructure and product teams. Strong Kubernetes/OpenShift and cloud experience are required, along with solid coding and monitoring skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE or related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop SRE automation and operational improvements/solutions.
• Actively participate in deploying operationally critical financial software applications and automation tools, and IT infrastructure.
• Review, verify, and validate software code for quality and performance.
• Participate in change management, incident and problem management for the platform and dependent components.
• Perform scrum master or Kanban duties to drive team tasks.
• Attend technical meetings and trainings with cross functional teams; perform POCs for roadmap items.
• Maintain and improve DevOps pipelines and frameworks; perform chaos engineering.
• Identify and deploy cybersecurity measures via vulnerability assessment and risk management.
• Automate alerts for metrics on performance, cost, vulnerabilities, risk, compliance.
• Build/testing frameworks for platform services, tests for performance and resiliency.
• Develop systems/tools dashboards for production observability.
• Improve processes/runbooks; automate manual support tasks.
• Understand SLAs and drive reliability culture.
