The Role

The Senior Solutions Architect will work with the Global Banking Markets Engineering team and the Global Risk Management Engineering team. They will be responsible for projects ensuring that the risk management applications' architecture and infrastructure support highly complex applications, designed to meet evolving business requirements and standards for reliability, scalability, and availability. This is a high-impact role managing tasks and techniques as a liaison among stakeholders. The incumbent should understand organizational structure, policies, and operations, and recommend technical/business solutions to streamline risk management processes. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and foster a customer-focused culture within the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
• Act as a thought partner for senior leaders across the group, especially in strategic technology projects.
• Analyze stakeholder requirements, recommend end-to-end technology design solutions, and take full responsibility for solution architecture.
• Lead initiatives such as application rationalization, cloud migration, and legacy modernization, presenting findings and roadmaps to senior leaders.
• Simplify the technology landscape to achieve efficiency gains while ensuring business value delivery.
• Ensure the bank's safety by making appropriate technology, architecture, data, and infrastructure choices to prevent malicious attacks.
• Consider the bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions.
• Create an environment for effective operations aligned with Scotiabank’s values, code of conduct, and risk management standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 12+ years in software engineering industry.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in Capital Markets and Risk Management domain.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Experience with structured architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and cloud migration roadmaps.
• Experience designing highly distributed, global systems, including network infrastructure, security, data, or application development.
• Deep understanding of risk management practices and industry trends.
• Ability to create designs and reference architectures for computationally and data-intensive solutions.
• Knowledge of operating systems, databases, and related technologies.
• Disciplined in development methodologies and familiar with software development concepts.
