Job summary

Recurrent Energy, a Canadian Solar subsidiary, is seeking an O&M Field Technician for on-site work in Ontario to maintain and troubleshoot solar farm equipment.

You will perform routine PMs, diagnose issues on inverters, switchgear, transformers and related gear, and coordinate with subcontractors to sustain uptime and safety.

Require 2–5+ years field experience; valid driver’s license; English communication; NABCEP certification is a plus; ability to work outside normal hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5+ years of hands-on field experience in renewable energy.
• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical machinery.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot daily project system issues to meet uptime goals.
• Perform routine maintenance (PMs, start-up tests) and determine maintenance needs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment such as inverters, switchgear, transformers and breakers.
• Coordinate with maintenance team, sub-contractors and other groups to improve system performance and reduce costs.
• Provide operation, maintenance and troubleshooting training to operators and others as needed.
• Assist with project commissioning and testing; contribute to SOPs.
• Oversee subcontractors and ensure adherence to safety and company policies.
