Aurora Solar, a leader in solar software, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Sales Mode team in Canada. You will shape systems that advance the clean-energy transition, strengthening our platform and contributing to greenfield initiatives that improve experiences for solar professionals and homeowners alike.

You will lead with curiosity, collaborate with intention, and craft high-quality software that scales.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping production software.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails or Python, with exposure to the other or willingness to learn.
• Strong SQL and Postgres fundamentals, including data modeling and performance.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript and React.
• Interest in working across the stack, including database, backend, and frontend.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to thrive on a fully distributed team in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Build new functionality for our solar design and sales platform.
• Design and maintain APIs connecting with financial and sales partners.
• Develop scalable, secure services built for long-term performance.
• Strengthen agile processes and drive high-impact sprint outcomes.
• Mentor teammates and elevate engineering culture through collaboration.
• Own services and participate in on-call rotation.
