Job summary

Kabam, a leading free-to-play game developer, seeks a Frontend Senior Software Engineer on a contract for an unannounced project with a large IP partner. You’ll build and maintain complex UI systems, work with designers and other engineers, and help optimize workflows for game teams.

The contract lasts at least 4 months with potential extension. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software development, strong C# / Node.js / C++ skills, Unity GUI/NGUI experience, and a proven track record in gaming

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Expert-level experience with C#, Node.js or C++.
  • Knowledge of UI technical best practices (on Console, PC, or Mobile).
  • Experience with Unity GUI or NGUI frameworks.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, preferably in gaming.
  • Shipped multiple titles starting from prototype stage (Console/PC/Mobile).
  • Proficiency with multiple game engines, or ability to pick up new ones.
  • Ability to write clean, well-documented code from design requirements.
  • Proven track record of independent and collaborative work in a dynamic team.

  • Architect solutions for complex technical challenges and inform technology choices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable effective workflows.
  • Ensure system performance, scalability, and security with best practices.

  • Architect and build UI screens, widgets, and UI elements extensibly.
  • Review feature designs and provide input on costs and alternatives.
  • Work with producers, artists, designers, and programmers in an agile environment.
  • Build and support tools to improve workflows for artists and designers.

We are looking for a Frontend Senior Software Engineer to join us on a contract for for an unannounced project with a large IP partner. The key function of the Senior Software Engineer is to build and maintain complex systems and tools. This position works collaboratively with other engineers and teams to maintain high performance and optimize workflows to support our game teams. This contract is expected to last at minimum 4 months, with possibility of extension.

Throughout this contract, you can expect to:
  • Contribute to software design, development, and maintenance, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Architect solutions for complex technical challenges and make informed technology decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments, facilitating effective communication.
  • Ensure system performance, scalability, and security, implementing advanced practices.
  • Resolve critical software issues and drive documentation for knowledge sharing.
  • Architect and build screens, widgets, and other UI elements in an extensible way.
  • Review feature designs and provide input on costs and possible alternatives.
  • Work closely with producers, artists, designers and other programmers in a highly collaborative and agile environment.

Your background includes:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Up-to-date knowledge on the latest mobile gaming trends
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical team members
  • Experience working in Agile, Kanban, or similar project management methodologies

$58 - $73 an hour

The typical hiring range listed above is specific to candidates located in Vancouver. Compensation will be determined based on your knowledge, skills and competencies.
