Job summary

Bentley Systems in Quebec City (Hybrid) seeks a Senior Software Developer to contribute to Civil Engineering software. You will design, develop, test, and maintain components across the Bentley Civil Engineering portfolio, owning features from design through delivery in a globally distributed team.

You will mentor engineers, participate in architecture discussions, and drive quality, performance, and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and C#.
• Deep understanding of object-oriented design, software architecture, and design patterns.
• Experience designing and developing complex, production-quality software systems.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software components for Bentley's Civil Engineering applications.
• Take ownership of features from design through delivery and ongoing support.
• Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions, helping drive technical decisions and best practices.
• Develop clean, maintainable, and extensible code using modern software engineering principles.
• Create and execute unit and integration tests to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root-cause analysis of defects.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, performance, and DevOps.
