Job summary

Bentley Systems is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the Civil Engineering Applications team in a hybrid or in-office role in Quebec City, Canada.

The role focuses on designing, developing, and evolving software for civil engineering applications with leadership and mentorship responsibilities. You will own features end-to-end, collaborate globally, and help drive best practices and modern development techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and C#.
• Deep understanding of object-oriented design principles, software architecture, and design patterns.
• Experience designing and developing complex, production-quality software systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software components for Bentley's Civil Engineering applications.
• Take ownership of features from design through delivery and ongoing support.
• Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions, driving technical decisions and best practices.
• Develop clean, maintainable, and extensible code using modern software engineering principles.
• Create and execute unit and integration tests to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root-cause analysis of defects.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, performance, and productivity.
• Research, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies where appropriate.
