Job summary

NATT Group seeks a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. This full-time, temporary role targets someone with mining/industrial safety experience and the ability to travel to remote mine sites.

Responsibilities include site inspections, policy development, training delivery, audits, and documentation to ensure regulatory and company compliance. OH&S credentials and 3–5 years' experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a health and safety role in mining, construction, or industrial settings.
  • Certifications such as CRSP/CHSC/NCSO or pursuing one; JHSC certification and First Aid/CPR/AED are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections and recommend safety improvements.
  • Support supervisors in monitoring safety compliance.
  • Create and maintain health and safety policies.
  • Ensure activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Provide safety training and orientation to employees.
  • Conduct hazard and risk assessments.
  • Attend safety meetings and maintain required documentation.
  • Manage and monitor use of safety equipment and supplies.
  • Analyze safety data and recommend actions.
  • Participate in health and safety initiatives and projects.

Natt Group operates through three core pillars: Natt Safety Services, Northern Academy (a Private Career College), and Natt Personnel. Together, they provide complete safety solutions—from training and certification to on-site support, including Confined Space Rescue specialists—while covering all staffing requirements.

Our client is currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on a full-time, temporary position in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The preferred candidate will have experience within the mining, construction, and/or industrial industry and a strong understanding of health and safety practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site inspections and recommend safety improvements
  • Support supervisors in monitoring and maintaining safety compliance
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of health and safety policies
  • Ensure all activities comply with company policies and industry regulations
  • Assist with or lead audits, inspections, and incident investigationsProvide safety training and orientation to employees
  • Conduct hazard and risk assessments
  • Attend safety meetings and maintain required documentation
  • Manage and monitor use of safety equipment and supplies
  • Analyze safety data and recommend action where needed
  • Perform related administrative tasks
  • Participate in health and safety initiatives and projects
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education or training in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety role
  • Safety designations such as CRSP, CHSC, or NCSO, or currently working toward one (asset)
  • Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) certification, First Aid, CPR, and AED (assets)
  • Willing and able to travel to a remote mine site in Northern Ontario
Skills and Experience:
  • Background in mining, construction, and/or industrial safety roles
  • Strong reporting, documentation, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Proficient with safety management systems and Microsoft Office
