Job summary

IAMGOLD at the Côté Gold Mine in Ontario is seeking a Senior Safety Specialist to provide health and safety leadership across operations and to support continuous improvement of safety performance, regulatory compliance, CRM, and incident prevention programs.

You will lead safety initiatives, oversee contractor safety, manage risk assessments, participate in ICAM investigations, and develop dashboards using Excel and Power BI to communicate trends to site leadership.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education in occupational health and safety or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive health and safety experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario OHSA and Regulation 854.
• Experience with safety management systems and incident investigations.
• Proficient in Excel, Power BI, and safety software (Intelex, SafeContractor).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional health and safety guidance to operational and project teams.
• Oversee the Contractor Management Program and contractor safety performance.
• Facilitate risk assessments and reviews for routine and non-routine work activities.
• Participate in incident investigations and ICAM processes.
• Monitor compliance with legislation, standards, and company requirements.
• Develop dashboards and reports using Excel and Power BI to communicate safety trends.
