Job description

The Simulation Group within Schneider Electric's Engineering practice is responsible for the worldwide delivery and support of operator training simulation (OTS) technology and related solutions. The primary product is Dynsim, a comprehensive dynamic process simulator that helps meet the challenges of designing, commissioning, controlling, and operating modern process plants safely, reliably, and profitably.

What will you do?

In this role, you will deliver simulation solutions mainly to Oil & Gas industry customers, as well as to users in the metal, mining, and power industries. You will work within project teams to complete assignments, including design documentation, implementation, testing, customer training, and site commissioning.

• Model assigned process areas
• Configure and input data to meet model requirements
• Create steady-state and dynamic simulation models using AVEVA software
• Follow modeling guidelines and specifications, ensuring quality compliance
• Test models before integration and document developed models
• Perform thermodynamic analyses and design calculations, reconciling data accordingly
• Manage integration with DCS/ESD systems
• Emulate PLC or other logic systems
• Conduct pre-Model Validation Testing, pre-FAT, and pre-SAT
• Participate in MVT, FAT, and SAT activities
• Contribute engineering documents such as FDS, Detailed Design, Test Procedures, and Manuals
• Assist lead engineers in designing and implementing parts of the simulation system
• Monitor project schedule performance and report changes to the project lead

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
• At least 5 years’ experience in process simulations, design, operations, or related technical roles
• Ability to interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, Cause and Effect diagrams
• Knowledge of Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Reactors, and Reaction Kinetics modeling
• Basic understanding of DCS/PLC architecture for process plant operations
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage diverse workloads
• Excellent customer relationship management skills
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites
