Job summary

Systematix is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer for a public sector client in Ottawa. The ideal candidate must hold an active Government of Canada Reliability (Level I) security clearance.

The contract starts in October 2026 for 12 months, with an option to extend for up to 24 months. Responsibilities include developing, configuring, testing, deploying, and maintaining ServiceNow applications across ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, and more, while collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in computer science, information technology, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer, supporting design, development, implementation, enhancement, integration, and maintenance of ServiceNow solutions.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience implementing and supporting ServiceNow product lines such as ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, SAM Pro, SecOps, HRSD, SPM/ITBM, BCM, Crisis Management, and custom enterprise applications within large, complex organizations.
• Experience developing, configuring, and supporting ServiceNow components, including workflows, service catalogs, portals, scripting, reporting, integrations, and platform automation capabilities.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving ServiceNow platform issues, defects, and incidents, while collaborating effectively with technical and business stakeholders in an enterprise environment.
• Experience documenting requirements, technical designs, configuration changes, testing and deployment activities, and facilitating technical discussions to support solution design and implementation decisions.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices, Agile delivery methodologies, and ServiceNow platform governance, including development standards, release management practices, and maintainability considerations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, enhance, test, deploy, and maintain ServiceNow applications and integrations across the Bank's ServiceNow platform.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess solution options, and translate business needs into epics, user stories, technical designs, and development tasks.
• Design, configure, develop, test, and implement ServiceNow solutions using platform best practices, scalable configurations, and maintainable design patterns.
• Develop and maintain ServiceNow components, including forms, tables, catalog items, record producers, workflows, Flow Designer solutions, business rules, client scripts, notifications, ACLs, portals, dashboards, and reports.
• Design, develop and support integrations between ServiceNow and internal or third-party systems using approved integration patterns, APIs, and data exchange mechanisms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, defects, incidents, and enhancement requests, performing root cause analysis where required.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and traceability records, ensuring requirements, development activities, testing results, deployments, and operational support activities are appropriately documented.
• Execute unit testing, support system and user acceptance testing, maintain test evidence, and remediate defects.
• Support releases and deployments, including change records, implementation plans, validation activities, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer.
• Support releases, deployments, Agile delivery activities, and project governance processes while providing regular updates and collaborating with project teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and support teams.
• Related activities and deliverables, as required.
