Job summary

Systematix is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer for a public sector engagement in Ottawa, ON. The ideal candidate must hold an active Government of Canada Reliability (Level I) security clearance and will contribute to a wide range of ServiceNow modules across ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, HRSD, and more.

The role emphasizes design, development, integration, and governance of ServiceNow solutions within an enterprise environment, with a start anticipated for October 2026 and contract term of 12 months,

Qualifications

• Requires active Government of Canada Reliability (Level I) security clearance.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer, with design, development, implementation, enhancement, integration and maintenance responsibilities.
• Minimum of 3 years implementing and supporting ServiceNow product lines such as ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, SAM Pro, SecOps, HRSD, SPM/ITBM, BCM, Crisis Management, and custom enterprise applications.
• Experience developing, configuring, and supporting ServiceNow components including workflows, catalogs, portals, scripting, reporting, integrations, and platform automation.
• Strong collaboration with technical and business stakeholders in an enterprise environment and ability to document requirements, designs, configurations, testing and deployments.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices, Agile methodologies, and ServiceNow governance and release management.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, enhance, test, deploy, and maintain ServiceNow applications and integrations across the platform.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into epics, user stories, designs, and tasks.
• Design and implement ServiceNow solutions using best practices and maintainable patterns.
• Develop components such as forms, tables, catalog items, workflows, Flow Designer, business rules, scripts, notifications, ACLs, dashboards, and reports.
• Design, develop and support integrations with internal or third-party systems using approved APIs and data exchange methods.
• Troubleshoot platform issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve defects and incidents.
• Produce technical documentation, traceability records, and maintain test evidence from unit and user acceptance testing.
• Support releases, deployments, change records, implementation plans, validation activities, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer.
• Assist with Agile delivery activities and project governance, providing regular updates to project teams and stakeholders.

We are Systematix and we are currently seeking aSenior ServiceNow Developerfor an opportunity with a public sector client. The ideal candidate must hold an active Government of Canada Reliability (Level I) security clearance. The contract is expected to start in October 2026. The initial contract term is 12 months, with the option to extend for an additional 24 months.

About the Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, enhance, test, deploy, and maintain ServiceNow applications and integrations across the Bank’s ServiceNow platform, including ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, SAM Pro, SecOps, HRSD, SPM/ITBM, BCM, Crisis Management, AI Control Tower, Service Portal, and custom enterprise applications, ensuring solutions meet business, technical, security, and performance requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess solution options, and translate business needs into epics, user stories, technical designs, and development tasks.
• Design, configure, develop, test, and implement ServiceNow solutions using platform best practices, scalable configurations, and maintainable design patterns.
• Develop and maintain ServiceNow components, including forms, tables, catalog items, record producers, workflows, Flow Designer solutions, business rules, client scripts, notifications, ACLs, portals, dashboards, and reports.
• Design, develop and support integrations between ServiceNow and internal or third-party systems using approved integration patterns, APIs, and data exchange mechanisms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, defects, incidents, and enhancement requests, performing root cause analysis where required.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and traceability records, ensuring requirements, development activities, testing results, deployments, and operational support activities are appropriately documented.
• Execute unit testing, support system and user acceptance testing, maintain test evidence, and remediate defects.
• Support releases and deployments, including change records, implementation plans, validation activities, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer.
• Support releases, deployments, Agile delivery activities, and project governance processes while providing regular updates and collaborating with project teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and support teams.
• Related activities and deliverables, as required.

About the Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in computer science, information technology, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience experience as a ServiceNow Developer, supporting the design, development, implementation, enhancement, integration, and maintenance of ServiceNow solutions.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience implementing and supporting ServiceNow product lines such as ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, SAM Pro, SecOps, HRSD, SPM/ITBM, BCM, Crisis Management, and custom enterprise applications within large, complex organizations.
• Experience developing, configuring, and supporting ServiceNow components, including workflows, service catalogs, portals, scripting, reporting, integrations, and platform automation capabilities.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving ServiceNow platform issues, defects, and incidents, while collaborating effectively with technical and business stakeholders in an enterprise environment.
• Experience documenting requirements, technical designs, configuration changes, testing and deployment activities, and facilitating technical discussions to support solution design and implementation decisions.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices, Agile delivery methodologies, and ServiceNow platform governance, including development standards, release management practices, and maintainability considerations.

Pay Disclosure

The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows:

• Junior:0-5 years of experience - $40-75/hr
• Intermediate:6-9 years of experience - $60-100/hr
• Senior:10+ years of experience - $90-150/hr

Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions.
