Job summary

Algoma Technology Services is seeking a Senior Security Systems Technician to lead installation, configuration, and maintenance of CCTV, alarm, and access control systems at client sites in Sault Ste. Marie. You will ensure integration with network infrastructure and provide on-site troubleshooting.

You bring 5+ years of hands-on security installations, strong cabling and networking skills, and a proactive, customer‑facing approach. Travel to job sites and flexible hours may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining CCTV, alarm, and access control systems.
• Strong proficiency in structured cabling, equipment installation, and systems integration.
• Solid networking knowledge including IP addressing, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.
• Proven troubleshooting ability in the field and independence in execution.
• Experience with VOIP systems and telecom equipment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain CCTV, alarm, access control, and VOIP systems.
• Read and interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, manuals, and docs.
• Diagnose and resolve field issues ensuring systems operate reliably.
• Perform equipment installations, cabling, system integration, and service work.
• Respond to service calls and manage multiple projects effectively.
• Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, contractors, and vendors.
