Elastic is seeking a Senior Security Research Engineer to lead innovative endpoint protections for Elastic Defend. You will study attacker TTPs, design protections, and extend visibility across Windows, macOS, and Linux.

The role requires deep OS internals knowledge, malware analysis, and autonomous collaboration with a global team. You will write performant C/C++ code for millions of endpoints, reason about evasion, and mentor others while shaping the technical direction of the Security group.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of security research experience.
• 6+ years in C, C++, and Python development.
• Deep OS internals knowledge (Windows preferred).
• Extensive reverse engineering and malware analysis.
• Ability to anticipate evasions and design resilient protections.

Responsibilities

• Research attacker techniques and turn them into protections.
• Extend endpoint visibility across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Develop production code that runs on millions of endpoints.
• Reverse engineer malware and study evasion.
• Own efficacy end-to-end with telemetry review and mitigation.
• Extend protection parity across platforms and architectures.
• Collaborate across Elastic Security with global teams.
• Lead technical direction and mentor engineers.
• Publish and present research findings.
