Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience reverse engineering malware and researching adversary tradecraft across multiple formats and architectures.
• Python development for research tooling and automation, with ability to read C and C++.
• YARA authorship and hunting at scale with signatures that hold up against variants.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux internals, network protocols like HTTP/TLS, and basic cryptography insights.
• Technical writing ability to turn investigations into clear, public analyses.
• Proven experience using AI to accelerate development and optimize code while owning outcomes.
• Ability to transition between projects and teams based on priorities.
• Collaborative mindset with eagerness to learn and protect data globally.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineer malware across Windows, macOS, and Linux to understand communication and persistence.
• Analyze data from millions of endpoints to identify threats and context for customers.
• Create protections and scalable tooling, including detectors and automation.
• Publish research to Elastic Security Labs and contribute to public repos and conferences.
• Collaborate with Elastic Security and other teams on threat intelligence and detection projects.
• Mentor junior researchers and help guide the team's technical direction.
