A leading independent school in Ottawa is seeking a passionate Senior School teacher for grades 9 and 10 Science. The ideal candidate will inspire students through innovative teaching methods, integrate technology into lessons, and contribute to the school community. This one-year position offers a competitive salary and benefits, starting in late August 2025.
Ashbury College is a leading not-for-profit independent day and boarding school for students in Grades 4 to 12 located in Canada’s capital and the traditional, unceded territory of the Anishinàbe Algonquin Nation. We serve a diverse community of over 60 nationalities from around the National Capital Region, the diplomatic community and international and domestic boarding students.

Based in central Ottawa, Ashbury College is currently seeking a Senior School teacher for grades 9 and 10 Science, who:
· brings genuine enthusiasm and a high degree of creativity to each class they teach,
· consistently identifies ways to integrate technology into the curriculum,
· enjoys collaborative teaching,
· regularly incorporates inclusive teaching practices in the classroom, and
· is passionate about experiments and demonstrations.
Your education, experience and qualifications include the following:
· Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
· B. Ed and /or M. Ed, ideally supplemented with a B.Sc. or M.Sc.
· Experience teaching Ontario Grade 9 and 10 science curricula
· Evidence of teaching enhanced by technology.
· Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail.
· Demonstrated experience communicating with students’ parents / guardians.
· History of adding to the full life of the school through coaching or leading educational interest groups
· Fluency in oral and written French is an asset.
This is a one-year teaching position, for the 2025-2026 academic year, with an 84% teaching load based on 4 courses, 2 co-curriculars, facilitation of a Teacher Advisory Group, and scheduled teaching on-calls.
Ashbury College provides a competitive compensation and benefits package, including participation in the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.
This appointment is effective starting late August 2025.
