Job summary

Randstad Digital in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a seasoned Senior SAP Software Developer for a 9-month contract on a hybrid basis.

You will support and enhance ABAP-based solutions, drive a migration from ECC to S/4HANA, and lead BTP/BDC integrations while promoting clean-core development and governance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of SAP ABAP experience in SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments.
• Hands-on SAP BTP capabilities, Fiori/UI5, CDS views, OData, and clean-core patterns.
• Proven SAP BDC data integration, governance, and data cloud work.
• Demonstrated experience migrating from SAP ECC to S/4HANA.
• Strong debugging, performance tuning, transport management and monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Support ECC to S/4HANA migration by refactoring legacy code and data model adaptation.
• Design, develop, and deploy scalable SAP BTP and BDC solutions and extensions.
• Maintain ABAP code across FI, CO, AP, AR, MM modules to ensure stability.
• Manage ECC to SAP SuccessFactors integrations and monitor data flows with external systems.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and technical documentation; mentor juniors.

Roles and responsibilities

We are seeking a seasoned Senior SAP Software Developer to join a dynamic Corporate Solutions Technology team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting and enhancing existing custom code, optimizing system performance, and driving key strategic initiatives—including an SAP ECC 6.0 to S/4HANA migration and BTP integrations with SAP SuccessFactors.

This position is ideal for an expert with deep technical mastery in ABAP, S/4HANA Finance, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) who can help advance modern cloud application development, process automation, and clean-core principles.

Key Responsibilities

• System Migration & Optimization: Support the transition from SAP ECC to S/4HANA by refactoring legacy code, adapting to new data models, and leveraging native S/4HANA capabilities.
• BTP & Cloud Development: Design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions using SAP BTP and BDC (including CAP, RAP, Fiori/UI5, SAP Integration Suite, and extension services). Partner with architects to enable clean-core strategies and side-by-side extensions.
• Core ABAP Maintenance: Enhance and maintain existing ABAP custom code across SAP Finance and Payroll modules (FI, CO, AP, AR, MM) to ensure production stability in a high-volume environment.
• Integrations & Monitoring: Support ECC to SAP SuccessFactors integrations and monitor data flows between SAP and external systems to maintain optimal system performance.
• Collaboration & Governance: Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and technical documentation while providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ Years of SAP ABAP Experience: Proven track record with custom reports, enhancements, interfaces, and forms in SAP ECC and S/4HANA Finance.
• SAP BTP Expertise: Hands-on experience with BTP capabilities, extension patterns, Fiori/UI5, CDS views, OData services, and clean-core principles.
• SAP BDC Proficiency: Strong background in SAP Business Data Cloud, including data integration, modeling, governance, and connecting SAP/non-SAP data sources.
• Migration Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience in SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration projects.
• Troubleshooting & Performance: Deep knowledge of system performance tuning, debugging, transport management, and integration monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP Concur, SWIFT integrations, or other financial platforms.
• Background in the Financial Services or Wealth Management sectors.
• Familiarity with Agile/DevOps methodologies.
