Job summary

CGIC, a leading Canadian financial services co-operativ e, offers a hybrid role focused on governance, risk, and compliance within its P&C Insurance Solutions department. You will lead performance reporting on the PCIS control environment and provide technical leadership in risk, compliance, and privacy.

You will collaborate across risk, control partners, Privacy and Compliance teams, and senior leadership to drive improvements and strategic insights while mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

• Experience in compliance and/or audit within the Financial Services or Insurance industry.
• Strong analytical skills to gather, interpret, and assess complex information.
• Ability to interpret and apply regulatory, legal, and policy requirements.
• Experience developing, monitoring, and analyzing Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
• Ability to manage changing priorities and adapt to evolving environments.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Operationalize governance, risk, and compliance practices across the business.
• Enable informed decision-making through proactive risk management and remediation strategies.
• Collaborate with risk and control partners to address gaps and strengthen the control environment.
• Interpret and respond to regulatory requirements with Privacy and Compliance teams.
• Provide risk perspectives to Senior Leadership and stakeholders.
• Drive the design and enhancement of controls using industry best practices.
