Job summary

The Global Operational Risk Management (GORM) team at CIBC is seeking a QA Specialist to strengthen control testing quality across 1st Line. You will conduct independent reviews, validate outcomes, and provide guidance to partners to improve testing standards.

You will work in a hybrid model, 1-3 days on-site in Toronto, with remaining days remote, contributing to a strong risk culture and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field required.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, or quality assurance, ideally in financial services.
• Professional certification such as CIA, CRMA, or CISA is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality assurance reviews of control testing documentation from 1st Line Business (1B) teams.
• Validate testing results against methodologies, internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify gaps and provide actionable feedback for remediation and continuous improvement.
• Document findings, root causes, and recommendations with clear support.
• Partner with stakeholders to clarify testing expectations and ensure consistent application of standards.
• Strengthen QA practices within GORM and contribute to knowledge sharing.
