Job summary

CGL is seeking a Counsel, Client Solutions (Regulatory) to provide general legal guidance with a focus on our property and casualty insurance operations, including personal and commercial lines. You will draft and negotiate contracts, policies, and internal guidelines, and collaborate with compliance and privacy teams.

Travel is occasional. The role requires a JD/LLB and licensure to practice in a Canadian province or territory, plus solid in-house process knowledge and at least five years of

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of broad and progressive legal experience in insurance, especially P&C.
• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and licensed to practice in a Canadian province or territory.
• Strong in-house legal counsel process knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and guidance to stakeholders across the property and casualty line, including personal and commercial lines.
• Support compliance and privacy teams; review, draft and negotiate contracts and policies.
• Represent the organization in industry groups; identify process improvements and stay current on legislation.
