Job summary

SmartCentres REIT is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee retail construction projects in the Western Canada Portfolio. You will manage costs, schedule, quality, and customer service while aligning with company policies.

The position reports to the Senior Director – Construction for Western Canada. Responsibilities include budget development, contract bidding, coordination with consultants, tenants, and contractors, and leading a project team to drive successful project closeout.

Qualifications

• College or University degree preferably in architectural, engineering or equivalent work experience
• PMI Accreditation or in progress
• Minimum 5 years of Canadian Construction Industry Experience

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage retail construction projects within the Western Canada Portfolio
• Develop project budgets and monitor costs
• Coordinate contract bidding and issue prime/subcontractor orders
• Control project schedule, quality and customer service
• Maintain project team relationships with consultants, tenants and contractors
• Prepare and process payments and ensure proper accounting coding
• Coordinate tenant aspects including drawings coordination, scheduling and costs
• Ensure project safety program is established and followed
• Mentor and supervise assistant PMs and PMs
