Job summary
Placements24 is seeking an experienced VoIP Systems Engineer to design, implement, and optimize a scalable VoIP infrastructure in a fully remote role. The ideal candidate will own the lifecycle of VoIP systems, from design and configuration to ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting, delivering high-quality voice services to clients.
The role requires extensive knowledge of SIP, H.323, RTP, RTCP, SBCs, and PBX systems, plus strong IP networking skills and problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience focused specifically on VoIP systems engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of VoIP protocols such as SIP, H.323, RTP, and RTCP.
- Experience with call control platforms, SBCs, and voicemail systems.
- Strong understanding of IP networking, QoS, and network security principles.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and deploy enterprise-level VoIP solutions using platforms like Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, or commercial PBX systems.
- Manage SIP trunking, call routing, and integration with other communication platforms.
- Monitor VoIP system performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex voice quality issues, network latency, and endpoint connectivity problems.
- Ensure the security and resilience of the VoIP infrastructure.
- Develop documentation for VoIP system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
